Special applications; Monobloc generators 

The Ministry of Home Affairs modified/integrated Memorandum nr. 31 Mi. S.A. (78) 11 of the 31^st August 1978 regarding “Security measures for the installation of internal combustion engines coupled with electricity generators or operating machines” with Memorandum nr. 12 of 8^th July 2003.

Point 3.2.2. letter c) is modified thus: “The tank’s capacity must be proportionate to the engine’s power and in any case no more than 50 litres up to 100 kW and 120 litres for higher power.

For generators situated on the ground floor in dedicated buildings, or outside on the natural surface level, supplied by category C fuel, incorporated tanks with a capacity of a maximum of 2,000 litres can be used.

In this case, a containment basin must be provided of at least the same volume as the tank’s capacity.

Moreover, Teknel has created a type of ‘Monobloc’ generator with incorporated tanks of no more than 2,000 litres which avoids use of the storage tank and relative civil works.

The technical advantages are many: from the direct engine – tank link to the optimisation of installation times; the client stands to save up to 20% in terms of supply, including set up.
